Day 26: Pountou to Lac d'Orédon

Waking up triumphant after having survived the storm, myrtille cake for brekkie, misty pale green landscapes with pine forests and purple heather galore all edged with cloud wisps, walking along a river past golden plains, getting slightly "diverted", clambering up and over rocky paths to the Col de Madamète (2509m), teeny tiny frogs hopping about underfoot, passing many blue lakes one of which we clambered around on a questionable bouldery path, encountering a host of grumpy goats that might have been sheep (surprisingly hard to tell the difference sometimes! sipping emergency cuppa soups, eating a very late lunch at 6pm, negotiating wine supplies at a refuge, and setting up camp by a misty lake that looks like the end of the world...

 ***
We pitched our tents at this aire de Bivouac – it was free, with epic views of the lake and there was free access to a toilet block (no showers tho)
